Lance Armstrong, left with Paul Tracy

Paul Tracy named honorary member of Trek Volkswagen Factory Mountain Bike Race Team

by Allison Foreman

Anyone who follows open wheel car racing in the United States has certainly heard of Paul Tracy. Paul is the defending Champ Car Series Champion (www.champcarworldseries.com). He is also the current Champ Car Leader among active drivers in career wins (26) and poles (19) and second among all-time laps led with 33,386. And to top it off, he has won the Most Popular Driver Award twice in his illustrious career.

Now, he has a new title to add to his impressive resume – honorary member of the Trek Volkswagen Factory Mountain Bike Race Team. To maintain his competitive edge, Paul uses cycling as a major part of his training regiment. Hey, the guy is even an acquaintance of Lance Armstrong. Paul enjoys mountain biking in the cooler months of fall and winter in his hometown of Las Vegas. So what type of mountain bike does he ride? A Trek Fuel 100 Team Issue, of course.

Paul with TREK/VW gearPaul and the Trek Factory Team are both sponsored by the Claus Ettensberger Corporation (CECwheels.com). CEC has been offering Europe’s finest automotive accessories in North America since 1990. As the exclusive importer of Oettinger Tuning for VW, CEC equipped one of our Jettas with a full complement of Oettinger products. The Trek Factory Team displays the car at events throughout the racing season. So when Paul expressed interest in a Trek Fuel, the team was more than happy to oblige.   We wish Paul the best with his racing season and hope that his passion for cycling and his new Trek Fuel only help him reach new heights both on and off the track.  Team Bike Stats:
