Did you do everything you could to prepare for today's race?
3 training rides last week.
Did you have any problems getting into the singletrack?
Not getting to the singletrack, but it was very bottlenecked shortly after that.
How did you like the long climbs?
I loved the climbs. It shows you who trained and who didn't.
Were you strong from start to finish?
They should rename this race "The Land of Ten Thousand Whoop-de-doos". They did tire me out near the end.
Were you happy with the way the race was run?
Yes. Very professional in every way. I loved the water sprayer the Fire Dept. had.
When did you put the hammer down?
Immediately. We had a great drag race all the way to the hard road.
Did you have any unusual problems?
I was a little surprised by the mud. Here in Harrisburg area it's been so dry. My chain came off once, other than that I had a great run.
Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?
Three quarters of the way through the race, there were experts around us again. I hooked up with two, and rode on in.
Do you enjoy point to point races more than lap races?
Yes, very much. But I realize not everyone has the room to do point to point races. Lap races are also better for the spectators. Aside from that, I was thrilled with the prizes. It had to be several thousand dollars. Absolutely unreal. A very memorable event.
