Bash 2001 Race Interview
|
Did you do anything special (apart from the whole training lifestyle) to prepare for this race? I listened to a lot of loud music before the race and visualized riding through the course. Did you achieve your goals for this race? I actually exceeded my goals for the race. I was just looking to place top 10 and see what kind of shape I was in. Were you strong from start to finish? Yes, I was surprised by how strong I felt on the last lap. Don Morrison and Wissahickon Cyclery did a great job putting together this race and we thank them for their efforts. Was there anything that you observed that could be done better as the series progresses? This race was put together very well. I wish the results could have been finalized a bit quicker, but I understand that the time was needed to resolve protests. When did you put the hammer down? I dropped the hammer at the beginning of the second lap. I think I was still in 10th place at that time. If you ran into these exact trail conditions again, would you do anything differently? Better mud tires, and I'd bring more towels. Did you have any unusual problems? Twice when re-mounting the bike after running through the mud I missed the seat and landed on the rear wheel - ouch! How would you rate the course? Good fast course - great for first race of the season. Definitely made more interesting with the mud. Were you happy with the way the race was run? Yup, thanks to everyone involved in running the race. If you could do the race again - would you do anything differently? Nope, I'm very happy with the my race. Is there anything you would like to add? This is a great web site - thanks!
