Did you do anything special (apart from the whole training lifestyle) to prepare for this race?
Well yeah I'm in sports all year round at school which include field hockey, basketball, track and field and go to the gym every once in a while.
Did you achieve your goals for this race?
Well this was my first race and my first time on the trail so really my goal was to finish and finish in a high ranking
Were you strong from start to finish?
Yeah pretty much. I didn't really know how to pace my self considering it was my first race and first trail riding
When did you put the hammer down?
Definitely when I hit the down hills and the roads and when people were walking the ups I put it in an easy gear and passed some
Did you have any unusual problems?
Hell yeah the mud was the biggest obstacle in the entire race. It would get stuck in the breaks, the gears and in your face. A lot of parts were so muddy that you had to pick up your bike and run.
How would you rate the course?
I liked. It there was a wide variety on up and down hills (including the killer one that everyone stood by to see if you would wreck that had a creek at the bottom) and the mud just added to the fun
Were you happy with the way the race was run?
Yeah the arrows and caution tape were good race directors but the kids standing on the road supposed to be directing you didn't do crap though and one of my racing partners got directed by somebody else off the racing trail and ruined his race.
If you could do the race again - would you do anything differently?
Yes dress warmer!! more water!!
Is there anything you would like to add?
GREAT JOB TO ALL THE OTHER PARTICIPANTS AND TAKE A NICE LONG SHOWER!!!!
