Did you do anything special (apart from the whole training lifestyle) to prepare for this race?
Running, riding on road, sports
Did you achieve your goals for this race?
Yeah, pretty much it was my second trail race ever so I was just hoping I could finish it
Were you strong from start to finish?
Yeah pretty much. I ran out of water and got really dehydrated so that kind of killed me
Did you change your race strategy after encountering the more difficult course this year?
Well I don't really have a strategy yet but I am getting use to trail riding
What was your favorite part of the course?
The loose rock downhill that had a bridge going over a creek
When did you put the hammer down?
Risky downhills and the nice dirt trails
Due to the heat and difficult course did you have any problems with cramping or dehydrating?
Oh my yeah, I only took one water bottle and I ran out towards the end. I felt like crap I needed water so bad.
Did you have any unusual problems?
No, my bike was good to me, a lot nicer to me then at Hibernia - (1st mountainbikeRACER.com Mid-Atlantic Super Series race).
How would you rate the course?
I like the variety of up and downhills probably a 9
Were you happy with the way the race was run?
I didn't like how they went with the name tags. They wrote your name on it with a marker and during the course there were big water puddles thigh deep and at the end they take your name tag and mine was all slurred and it read daniel instead of danielle and my name wasn't called for the fisrt place junior women but then a racer told them that I finished 40 mintes ahead of who they thought was the 1st Place Junior Women which was nice. I am going to wait for the results to see if they still have me as Daniel.
