• How was your fitness level going into this race?
   
  It ended up being much better than I thought. I had only ridden a couple of times since mid-February when I had gotten in about 2 solid weeks of indoor training.
   
  
• Were you happy with your position going into the singletrack?
   
  Yes, I was third and quickly took over first.
   
  
• Were you strong from start to finish?
   
  No, I was strong my first two laps, falling back to second but going at a good pace. In the middle of my third lap I bonked and had just enough energy left to finish third.
   
  
• When did you put the hammer down?
   
  I put the hammer down the first two laps. I wasn't confident that I could keep a good pace the whole race so I decided to go hard and get as much distance between me and the others in my class as possible before I bonked.
   
  
• Did you have any unusual problems?
   
  Not really.
   
  
• Were you happy with the way the race was run?
   
  For the most part. I was really happy with it until it took about two and a half hours to start the awards.
   
  
• Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?
   
  Not really.
