I ate fat....and donut holes for breakfast...... had 'em in my pocket. Hey...... lots of calories in a little donut hole. Did you change your race strategy at all when you saw the difference in difficulty of this years course over last years? Yeah.......when I saw Sue Haywood (laughs)......(Sue was within ear shot and they both discussed the race for a minute or two) Were you strong from start to finish? Yeah..... pretty much. I think I worked hard in the beginning........ that first part. After that I think I was good ....... it mellowed out a little bit and I settled in. When did you put the hammer down? I never really put the hammer down...... I just tried to ride steady the whole time. What was your favorite part of the course? The first downhill section that was all big rocks....... I was all smiles. Due to the difficulty of the course this year..... did you have any problems with cramping, not drinking enough or anything? Had plenty of water..... plenty of fluid in me so........ no cramping. Did you have any unusual problems? No. No flats. The FUEL rode great! How would you rate the course today? Hard..... with fun downhills. Were you happy with the way the race was run? Yeah...... they had the results posted quickly and the awards quickly....... After having a tough time at Hibernia (Mid-Atlantic Super Series #1 - Wagontown, PA) you seemed awfully strong today not that far back from Sue Haywood......... what do you attribute this to? I think mostly my diet and riding a few more hours per week....... longer rides...... I think that helped me. I had a good recovery week........ came into this recovered and feeling good. Did you achieve your goals for this race? Yes. I was happy....... I wasn't too far back from Sue. |
