Mike Connair

Did you do everything you could to prepare for today's race?

I thought so. I've been doing more hill work on the road.

Did you have any problems getting into the singletrack?

No, I was considering starting easy anyway since there were only the 4 of us and 3 Juniors starting together

How did you like the manhole downhill?

It was less of a problem for a wuss like me than I thought.

Were you strong from start to finish?

No! The fourth lap was really getting to me.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Yes. The course was more fun than I thought it would be and the marshals were great.

When did you put the hammer down?

I was trying to catch up to Rob Sauer on the first lap when I flatted on a bridge.

Did you have any unusual problems?

Yes, After I flatted I got sweat on my glasses fixing it and couldn't see to well. I endo'd on a really easy section, knocking the wind out of me for a few minutes.

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

Yeah, when I stopped to fix my flat I was ready to just ride to finish. I only ended up winning because Rob blew up his spare tube, Fuzzy flatted and has to go back to the parking lot and Bill was sick.

Did you climb the steep uphill on any laps?

That's not funny.

Anything you'd like to add?

I want to thank all of the other Masters Experts. I don't think I could ask for anyone more fun to ride with. I also want to thank all of the organizers for a great series.
