Did you do anything special (apart from the whole training lifestyle) to prepare for this race?

I did a 50 mile road race yesterday down in Bluebell.

Did you find the rock gardens challenging?

Yeah, it was a really fun course...... I liked it. We had a good time (me and Jason out there) it was like a fun ride at French Creek....... it was very similar.

Were the other riders courteous when passed or passing?

Well, we were trying to be courteous to them.... you know..... sometimes you scare them. If we offended anybody..... we're sorry.

What was your favorite part of the course?

I'd say one of the last downhills.... the sweeper that went into the mud. That was fun.... a little bit fast...... there were a couple of sections where you could get some air. It was fun.

Were you strong from start to finish?

Yeah.... I just tried to keep it steady. Towards the end Jason started attacking and got away..... right around the last mile about where I saw you... he was putting a hurting on me. He's been really strong on the mountainbike lately. He's been working hard.... been up here since Friday.

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

No.. just good experiences racing. Not a lot of mountainbike courses are like this any more. It's hard to find them.

When did you put the hammer down?

At the start we sat in for a little bit. Let the guys take their time.... and slowly once they started fumbling we went by and got away...... pulled a little bit of a gap until we were comfortable and then just sort of rode our ride..... he'd pull a lap then I'd pull a lap..... it was good.

Did you have any unusual problems?

No, not at all..... everything seemed to work really smooth. My bike worked excellent...... everything worked out good.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Yeah.... everything's good.

Is there anything you would like to add?

They should keep this race running.... it's a good course and the more people that come to check it out the more will like it and make the trip up here.
