How was your fitness level going into this race?

I was in good shape. I was right where I wanted to be at this time of the year for the race.

Were you happy with your position going into the singletrack?

Yes. I was in second place going into the singletrack, but soon took over the lead.

Were you strong from start to finish?

Yes. As soon as I found out how the mud affected me I was able to pace myself.

When did you put the hammer down?

In the last lap.

Did you have any unusual problems?

Nothing besides the mud.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Yes. Everything ran smoothly and everyone did a good job.

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

No.

Anything you would like to add?

I felt great during the race and was surprised how well I did in the mud, since it was the first muddy race I was in.
