Did you do everything you could to prepare for today's race?

I ate a good dinner the night before. That's about it.

Did you have any problems getting into the singletrack?

No. It was a pretty straightforward start.

How did you like the climbs?

The climbs were good. They were all power climbs... middle and big ring stuff. I always like that.

Were you strong from start to finish?

Yeah. Actually, I was quite fresh for the entire race. Once Chris (my team mate) took the lead and I worked my way up to second, it was easy going. I just had to protect his lead and keep the rest of the field "in check." The middle of the race was quite comfortable. No one was pushing the pace. Fortunately, many of the other racers weren't riding at their best. It made my job a lot easier.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Absolutely! It was a good course, a good venue, and the race was well organized.

When did you put the hammer down?

I never really had to "put the hammer down." During the final lap we (Brandon and I) were lapping riders and somehow I was able to gap him a bit. I then took advantage of a few fast sections of the course by picking up the pace. He (Brandon) never recovered. I think he may have been a bit frustrated. So I was able to put some time on him.

Did you have any unusual problems?

No problems.

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

Everything was good. It was fun riding with Brandon because of all the fan support he was getting, being that this was his home town. After cheering for him, the spectators would then give me a small obligatory cheer. They were very considerate. It's always pleasant to be around an invigorated crowd.

Did you feel any extra excitement since this is the final Super Series race?

No, not really. I only did one other race, the Race For Chocolate. They were both very well attended and equally exciting.

If you had just ONE thing that you could change to make next year's series better....... what would that be?

Free donuts, free massage, and belly dancers. That would be perfect!

Anything you would like to add?

Great series. Can't wait until next year's. I will definitely do more of them.
