Did you do anything special (apart from the whole training lifestyle) to prepare for this race?

Again the local club races. I did take off Friday and Saturday to go to Americade.

Did you find the rock gardens challenging?

Yes. Sometimes I had to run because of other riders.

Were the other riders courteous when passed or passing?

Yes, very. Lots of encouragement from fellow racers.

What was your favorite part of the course?

What I would call the rhythm sections after the rocks.

Were you strong from start to finish?

Yes. The legs felt good despite the days off with lots of walking.

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

Just the usual. Spectators cheering for you.

When did you put the hammer down?

At the start. This year start suited me better.

Did you have any unusual problems?

I over shifted and my chain went into the spokes. This allowed the group to catch back up. But it was a quick fix.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

This race gets better every year.

Is there anything you would like to add?

I'll try to promote this race for more NY riders to come to. It's nearby and a great place to ride. Many thanks to all the people that worked hard to put a great event on.
