How was your fitness level going into this race?

I was feeling fine, the week prior, I had spent a lot of time on the bike.

Were you happy with your position going into the singletrack?

Yeah, I was third behind Carlos and Matt Doyle

Were you strong from start to finish?

Yeah, I slowed up some on the second lap to let one rider catch up. I was able to ride his wheel throughout the remainder of the lap, at least until he flatted.

When did you put the hammer down?

Never really, I just kept a consistent pace. I took off briefly on the first lap just after the two riders in front on me went down. I was able to put some time between myself and the pack.

Did you have any unusual problems?

No, everything went smoothly. Finally.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Great race, I would have liked to heard some different tunes coming from the DJ. Nothing like coming past the start/finish with Jennifer Lopez blasting?

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

Following two others into the single track, I had an opportunity to watch Carlos take the fall of a lifetime. I looked up just in time to see him endo. His front wheel stayed on the root in the trail, while the rest of him took a superman dive, face first into the dirt. I swore he broke something. Next thing I know, he finishes the race in 5th. I love seeing crashes, as long as no one gets hurt.

Anything you would like to add?

Kudos to all who made this Super Series a success. It's a lot of fun being able to race in such a well organized event series.
