Conditions: Sunny, cool. Course was mostly dry.

How was your fitness level going into this race?

Not what it has been. I had been training for a 15K trail run which was a couple weeks before Hibernia--so I hadn't been riding a whole lot. In general I haven't been riding as much this year.

Did you have any problems getting into the singletrack?

Well, considering that I was almost the last person into the singletrack--I guess not.

Were you strong from start to finish?

I think I was fairly consistent until the last lap--then I really started to tire.

When did you put the hammer down?

I don't think I ever put the hammer down, but I usually ride a strong second lap.

Did you have any unusual problems?

No.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Yes, I thought the race was very well run and organized. Thanks to all the people who gave of their time to put on the event.

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

Bill Gentile and I had a de ja vu sort of experience--we wound up riding most of the final lap together again this year. He helped keep me smiling despite the pain both years.
