Conditions: bit muddy
Did you do anything special (apart from the whole training lifestyle) to prepare for this race?
Not not really, just took an easy ride day before.
Did you like the way Guy's ran each category separately to reduce traffic due to the large turnout?
Yep, Guy's did a great job.
Were you happy with your choice of tires?
Tires worked fine, didn't pack up and didn't flat.
What was your favorite part of the course?
Really cool flowing single track section through the pines. Even had some nice berms in the turns, was a blast to ride.
Were you strong from start to finish?
Yeah I guess, went pretty hard at the start and then rode the rest of the race at a pace I though I could hold for 2 hrs or so.
Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?
Almost biffed it big time passing a lapper. Hit a hidden wet root that almost put me over the bars.
When did you put the hammer down?
At the start till Fergie and Chris dropped off a bit.
Did you have any unusual problems?
No, race went pretty smooth
How would you rate the course?
Great course, was fun muddy, would really have been a hoot in the dry.
Were you happy with the way the race was run?
Yes, Guy's did good on everything from registration to results.
Is there anything you would like to add?
Thanks to Guy's for promoting the race, Don and Bill for promoting the series
and of course thanks to my sponsors Bushey's, the Philips group, Sutliff Autoplex,
VOmax and www.gretnabikes.com
for their support.
