Mike Hoffman

How was your fitness level going into this race?

I feel I was ready for the Beginner class 100%, both mentally and physically. My goal is to be that way for a Sport class race.

Did you have any problems getting into the singletrack?

Absolutely, I was in 2nd with enough breathing room for good line selection.

Were you strong from start to finish?

Considering I didn't know how far I was from the end...(my computer stopped working) After I completed the first lap, I realized it was going to be easy from there on, except for catching 1st Place.

When did you put the hammer down?

As I rounded the corner for the start of my 2nd lap, I realized I was halfway. Then I grabbed the big ring.

Did you have any unusual problems?

Just a malfunctioning computer, which was probably my fault anyway. That wasn't enough to slow me down that day.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Everything about that race day was superb! I was pleased to see a well organized group of people. A punctual starting team, and efficient scoring. The whole concept of a prize table is new to me, but that's a good thing!

Anything you would like to add?

I'd like to thank the promoters for putting a great start to what should prove to be an even better series. May the sun shine as brightly every day, like it had that wonderful Sunday.
