Did you do anything special to prepare for this race?

No. Basically this winter I have put a lot of miles on my bike and I did a lot of cross-country skiing but I didn't do anything specific for Wye Mills.

In the last two months how many hours per week have you trained on average?

I'd say about 12.

Were you strong from start to finish?

My starts aren't that good. I get stronger as I go on. I think I entered the woods in about 6th place.

When did you put the hammer down?

The second lap.

Did you have any unusual problems?

I had chain suck one time. I think it was the last lap and I shifted into the granny gear on one of those uphills and my legs were tired. When I shifted it just came off.

How do you rate the course?

I love that course. I think it's great. It's always well maintained. I love the twisty, windy type single-track - they always have BMX type sections which I think is pretty cool.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Yes. I've been to a few races where no matter what - they'll only pay out 3 deep. I think they went very deep for the men and also the women. It seemed fair all around. The results took a while but there were a lot of people there.

If you could do the race again, would you do anything differently?

I would try to get a better start. I also may try semi-slick tires the next time. I was a little concerned about the rain (it did rain a little bit) but other than that - no.

Is there anything you would like to add?

No, besides the fact that I love biking!
