Interview

MBR.com: Did you do anything special to prepare for this race?

Dave: No I really didn't. It's kind of the end of the year and I'm running out of daylight so I'm not training a whole lot. I think I had a whopping five hours of training this week. I'm well rested and this was my last race for the year.

MBR.com: In the last two months how many hours a week have you trained?

Dave: I'm down to about 10 hours a week now and I'm ready for some time off after this race. I'll probably take about a week off the get into about 7 hours a week for the next month or so - in December start hitting the weights and doing some riding.

MBR.com: Were you strong from start to finish?

Dave: Yes. Today went fairly well. I think I rode a pretty consistent race (I don't have any splits to show it) but I felt that it was consistent.

MBR.com: When did you put the hammer down?

Dave: Half way through the first lap. On the really twisty singletrack descent - that's where I got my gap and hammered the climb coming back out of that.

MBR.com: Did you have any unusual problems with the race?

Dave: Not really. Probably chose the wrong tires for today (slicks) but that didn't seem to be too much of a factor after the first lap when things seemed to dry up out there.

MBR.com: How do you rate the course?

Dave: I thought it was a very fun course. I like how it was a little slimy there in the beginning. It adds a different dimension to the race. It makes it more exciting and challenging.

MBR.com: Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Dave: Yes, they always seem to put a good race on here and that's what keeps me coming back.

MBR.com: What was your prize for First Place?

Dave:

MBR.com: If you could do the race again, would you do anything differently?

Dave: Probably change tires, but except for that probably not. Things seemed to work out pretty well.

MBR.com: Is there anything you would like to add?

Dave: It's a well run race and I'm happy to be back here again. It was a good year and I can't wait to start next year!
