Did you do anything special to prepare for this race?

Basic hard training all winter long.

In the last two months how many hours a week have you trained?

18 to 20 hours.

Were you strong from start to finish?

Yes. I had a mechanical early on in the race, so I had some catching up to do on the second and third lap. Then I caught up, rested for about a lap and then felt like it was time to make my move.

When did you put the hammer down?

About half way through the last lap.

Did you have any unusual problems with the race?

My chain got wrapped up and twisted about half way through the first lap. I had to stop and fix it.

How do you rate the course?

Considering the topography of Florida, I'd say it was an 8 or 9 out of 10 given what they had to work with. It was really good. They really made the best of what they had to work with.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

For the most part. It was a difficult course for lapped riders. When we come up on lapped riders in order to pass slower riders in a panic situation, it's difficult, but a lot of races are like that - not all of them, but a lot of them - so.....nothing that other races don't have problems with.

What was your prize for first place?

Cash

If you could do the race again, would you do anything differently?

No, I don't think so. It went pretty much according to plan except for my little mechanical problem.

Is there anything you would like to add?

No.
