MBR.com: Are you happy with your number ONE finish? Lauri: Sure MBR.com: In the last two months how many hours a week have you trained? Lauri: Probably 8 to10. MBR.com: Did you have any unusual problems with the race? Lauri: Yeah, I couldn't get by slower people in front of me. MBR.com: Did you have any unusual luck? Lauri: Not really. MBR.com: Were you strong from start to finish? Lauri: There were people up there that were definitely not riding at the pace you could, so I would say I was strong from beginning to end but I probably could have gone faster. That's probably how it is all the time, I don't know. MBR.com: Did you do anything special to prepare for this race? |
|||||
| Lauri: No, I
almost wasn't going to do it I was so nervous.
MBR.com: How do you rate the course, did you like the course? Lauri: I definitely liked the course. MBR.com: Were you happy with the way the race was run? Lauri: Yes, but I would have liked the women to go off separately. All the women were hanging out in the back, talking - and they said O.K. from numbers boom to boom - move up! We thought they were just having us move up to a pre-stage area or whatever and then they said, "One minute to go" and people were just going , Wooahhh! MBR.com: What was your prize for First Place? Lauri: A bag of tubes and patch kit and some lube but the tubes were Schrader valves so I can't even use them. MBR.com: If conditions are the same, could you go faster next year? Lauri: If it were identical? Yes. |
