Interview with Lauri Webber
Date: May 13, 1999
Event: Race for Chocolate XC - 2000
Class: Women 19+
Category: Sport
Length: 15 miles
Time: 1:46:12
Conditions: High 70s - Dry - Fast, hard packed course
Bike: Cannondale F-1000

Did you do anything special to prepare for this race?

No not really.

In the last two months how many hours a week have you trained on average?

10-12 hours.

Were you strong from start to finish?

I felt best in the middle of the race.

When did you put the hammer down?

Just before we entered the single track for the first lap.

Did you have any unusual problems?

No just a couple of crashes.

How would you rate the course?

I liked the course. It reminded me somewhat of Fair Hill but with no hills.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Yes, much better than Fairmount!

If you could do the race again, would you do anything differently?

No.

Is there anything you would like to add?

There was a lot of tight single track which made it difficult to pass. Most folks would let you pass but there were a few who would not let you pass (even though they were in a different class altogether).
