Did you do anything special to prepare for this race?

No, not more than I do for any other race.

In the last two months how many hours a week have you trained?

It's been a little low in the last couple of months - about 12-14.

Were you strong from start to finish?

I had a really bad start like usual. I didn't actually clip in until on the way down the first hill. I was almost dead last in the pack. I knew I had to get in before the single-track so I flew as fast as I could on the down hill and probably took some passing lines that I wouldn't have taken otherwise. I ended up being fourth into the single-track which held me up for a little while. Then, once I got around everyone on another downhill I was home free from there.

When did you put the hammer down?

Probably the first lap and the last lap. I think I was putting time on the rest of the field except for Willow (Koerber) on the first, second and fourth lap. My husband was giving me lap times through a little headset that we tried for the first time. It was really fun to hear exactly where everybody else was at while you were racing.

Did you have any unusual problems with the race?

No. No problems. My back was bothering me a little bit. I was riding with a stiff seat post which I have never ridden with (I've always used a suspension seat post in the past).

How do you rate the course?

I love this course I think it's awesome. I love tight single-track and that's exactly what it has. There wasn't too much climbing so.....I'm not much of a climber. It's just a great course - I love single-track it's just a lot of fun.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Very. I thought they did a really good job. I think Xcelerate Twilight has a lot to offer. I did the crit yesterday morning and raced on the road yesterday as well. The whole thing was a lot of fun....got first place in the crit yesterday........

If you could do the race again, would you do anything differently?

Push a little bit faster as always. Other than that.... no I don't think so.

Is there anything you would like to add?

I will definitely be back again next year.
