Did you do anything special to prepare for this race? It was a race that I had targeted. My goal was to go down there and do well then move up to Expert class. I have been training for it specifically. In the last two months how many hours a week have you trained? 9-12 hours per week depending on work. Were you strong from start to finish? Yeah, I guess so. I led after about the first half mile. Then I pretty much held on the rest of the way. I think I had a 49 second split going into the last lap and ended up about 4 minutes out. So I finished up pretty strong. When did you put the hammer down? I started out fast because you have to have a good start in this race. You go right into the single track and there are a lot of racers in the Sport class. It's better just to go out hard, get up front - and start working your way through the other fields. |

Did you have any unusual problems? No, everything went pretty smooth, the course was in great shape and I was able to lead for most of the race, so..... How do you rate the course? It's not the most technical course, but it's a lot of fun. It's one of my favorite races of the year. I love that course a lot. Were you happy with the way the race was run? Yeah, they do a great job down there. Their prizes are good and I think it's pretty well run and a good atmosphere all around. If you could do the race again, would you do anything differently? Not really, can't say that I would. Is there anything you would like to add? I'd like to thank my sponsors - |
