MBR.com: Did you do anything special to prepare for this race? Phil: No. I rode last weekend but I really didn't get a chance to ride that much this week. Usually year-round I try to ride as much as I can. MBR.com: In the last two months how many hours a week have you trained on average? Phil: Two hours a week. I usually just ride my road bike during the week. I usually ride about 2 to 3 times a week on average. MBR.com: Were you strong from start to finish? Phil: I felt O.K. The first lap I was accepting to be passed if you know what I mean. In my mind I was like, "Oh, somebody's going to come up and pass me" but they didn't. MBR.com: When did you put the hammer down? Phil: Probably half way through the second lap. I just tried to set a nice pace the first lap just to hang on. When I realized a had a chance to win halfway through the second lap when I got past the tough climb I felt pretty good so... MBR.com: Did you have any unusual problems with the race? Phil: Well, it was just a little slick. I missed a couple of corners cause I was going too fast, but that's about it. |

| MBR.com: How do you
rate the course?
Phil: On a scale of one to ten? MBR.com: Yes Phil: I would rate it 7 1/2 to 8. MBR.com: Were you happy with the way the race was run? Phil: Yes MBR.com: What was your prize for First Place? Phil: They had a big table of prizes and I just picked a 14 in one race tool made by Blackburn. I've been needing one of those. MBR.com: If you could do the race again, would you do anything differently? Phil: Not really. I guess not, whatever I did today worked so why not do the same? MBR.com: Is there anything you would like to add? Phil: No. I guess not. |
