Did you do anything special to prepare for this race?

I did a lot more off-road riding last week. I drank a lot of water before the race and thought positive.

In the last two months how many hours a week have you trained on average?

About 12 to 13

Were you strong from start to finish?

I was getting really tired by the end. I felt pretty strong for most of the race but those last few miles......

When did you put the hammer down?

I'd say the first 5 miles and the last few.

Did you have any unusual problems?

No. Everything worked well and the bike ran good. I felt pretty good too.

How do you rate the course?

It's my favorite. It's very different. Lots of rocks - and it wasn't too muddy like I thought it would be after all of that rain. I love this course. I think it will always be my favorite.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Yes, very happy. Usually the bar codes don't work because of the mud - they have to wipe it off - but it worked pretty good this year.

If you could do the race again, would you do anything differently?

I would try to stay with the pack more on the first uphill climb.

Is there anything you would like to add?

If you get discouraged (especially with a course like Michaux) just keep going!
