How was your fitness level going into this race?
Better than this time last year. Overall, I felt good, although still hurting
from last weekend at Michaux
Were you happy with your position
going into the singletrack?
Yes.
Were you strong from start to finish?
I started off slow since I didn't warm up for long before the race. It
took me a while to get going.
When did you put the hammer down?
Towards the end of the first lap I picked up the pace a little and just
tried to stay consistent
Did you have any unusual problems?
Not really, just more crashes than I would have liked.
Were you happy
with the way the race was run?
As always, a really well organized and well run event!
Did you have
any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?
Joel Gwadz, who was in front of me, stopped to assist a racer who had crashed
hard and was lying in the weeds about fifteen feet off of the trail. It's
great to see that kind of sportsmanship and Joel should be commended.
