How was your fitness level going into this race?
Believe it or not this was the second time I've been on my bike this year,
but my fitness level was good in general.
Were you happy with your position
going into the singletrack?
Wasn't thinking about it, just trying to keep an even pace throughout.
Were
you strong from start to finish?
A little weak to start but overall pretty strong.
When did you put the hammer
down?
I was in the woods for the most part alone thinking the leaders(about three)were
far ahead. I popped out of the woods and they were right there about
a mile from the finish. I passed them on a kick and then just tried to keep
a good steady pace. Just made it by 6 seconds from #2.
Did you have any
unusual problems?
No
Were you happy with the way the race was run?
The race, as always was excellent.
Did you have any interesting experiences
during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?
Not really
Anything you would like to add?
Whoever scrubbed the moss off the rocks in the tunnel missed a spot! About
halfway thru on the left!
Seriously everyone that prepped the course and ran the race deserve the
highest praise, and thanks to the DuPonts too!
I'm not a hardcore racer but yearly I love to get down to Granogue and
ride in the magnificent setting.
Hats off (or helmets) to everyone involved. You Rock!
