How was your fitness level going into this race?
My fitness was progressing well all spring. I just came off a scheduled
easy week so I was well rested.
Were you happy with your position
going into the singletrack?
I was very happy going into the singletrack. I went in at 4th place. I
don't like to dictate the pace so I was comfortable there.
Were
you strong from start to finish?
For once I finally felt good a whole mountain bike race and for it to be
at a Michaux race is even better.
When did you put the hammer
down?
I don't normally bring a hammer to the races. I like to just pace it out
and ride strong.
Did you have any unusual problems?
No real unusual problems. I only hit one tree so that was good.
Were
you happy with the way the race was run?
Michaux races are always run well. Although it took a while for the results.
Did
you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?
Picking the mud out of my eye made the already tough course a little more
challenging. Thanks to Matt Thompson from Wooden Wheels for the competitive
ride.
