How was your fitness level going into this race?
Pretty good...it's still early.
Were you happy with your position
going into the singletrack?
Not really..I think I was in last in the first part.
Were you strong
from start to finish?
I started to bonk with like 5 miles to go.
When did you put the hammer
down?
A few miles into the race when I passed Paul on one of the road climbs.
Did
you have any unusual problems?
Yeah..my fork wasn't working very well but I'm sure everyone else's bike
wasn't perfect.
Were you happy with the way the race was run?
Absolutely. I like how there is a junior expert class so we can race more
miles.
Did you have any interesting experiences during your race
(exchanges with competitors/spectators)?
Yeah, I passed this one guy on one of the roads and he said since I was a
junior he should be drafting off of me. At one point I could hear cheering
and I thought we were at the end, then I asked some guy and he said there
were like 9 miles to go.
Anything you would like to add?
Yeah, I'd like to thank the promoters of this race, Alex's mom for getting
me there, and God for everything he's done for me.
