How was your fitness level going into this race?
I thought it was fairly good but I think I forgot about resting up a bit
for Michaux.
Were you happy with your position going into the singletrack?
Lets see...I think I was probably about the last person in but it didn't
matter because folks get pretty bunched up in the beginning section.
Were
you strong from start to finish?
NO I never really had the gas to get moving.
When did you put the hammer
down?
There was no hammer to put down. I was really just making my way forward.
Did
you have any unusual problems?
Yes I hooked my bar on a tree while getting passed on a technical descent.
I went down very hard on a rather large rock and smashed my left knee
and right elbow. At first I really thought that I would need some help but
then I woke up and remembered that I was racing Michaux! I new I had
better get back on and just get moving. After about 5 min I was able to pedal
again and ride another hour or so to the finish.
Were you happy with
the way the race was run?
Sure it is a great Venue and I know how stressful it is to put on a race.
Anything
you would like to add?
I just wanted to thank all my friends who helped me out after the race
getting my knee cleaned up (turns out I had opened up the joint sack
and exposed the tendons but did not cut them or crack the patella).
