How was your fitness level going into this race?
Pretty good, I just purchased a road bike not too long ago so I have been
doing most of my training on the road and so far it seems to be helping.
Were
you happy with your position going into the singletrack?
Well I wasn't dissapointed, I was third behind Alex Howarth and ElI Smith.
Were
you strong from start to finish?
I would say so, I tried to take it easy in the beginning because my quads
had been very very tight raceday morning the day before and I thought
I was going to cramp terribly but they seemed to be alright after I got
warmed up.
When did you put the hammer down?
I took Alex about half way through the last lap and passed another guy
at which point I tried to open up as much of a gap as I could, and keep
it.
Did you have any unusual problems?
Washouts and chain drops but not really unusual.
Were you happy with the
way the race was run?
Yes very, you guys are extremely organized and everything was very nice.
And you did the awards pretty soon after also.
Did you have any interesting
experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?
No not really, just had lots of fun.
Anything you would like to add?
Thanks a zillion to Shaun from Mountainside for letting me race his saweet
cannondale hardtail. Great race, definitely worth my 2 1/2 or 3 hour
drive!
