Did you do anything special to prepare for this race?

No, actually I was using this race more for preparation for the Canmore and Mont Sainte-Anne races. (World Cups) Those are the ones I'm focusing on for the Olympics.

Were you strong from start to finish?

Well, I didn't go out too hard. I started on the front line..... and I moved back probably somewhere in the top 20... back there a bit.... then just kind of moved up from there.

When did you put the hammer down?

I wouldn't say I put the hammer down anywhere. I just rode steady and slowly picked off people the whole race.

Did you have any unusual problems with the race?

No, not really.... my descending isn't quite up to par yet but I think after a couple of more races it will be there.

How do you rate the course?

I think it's excellent. It's a real mountain bike course. It's got some good climbs and some good technical descents. It's not too hard to get by people..... I think all around it's probably one of the best courses out here.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Yes, except I think NORBA needs to work on their role call for the start. There's a bit of confusion on how they are doing this. It seems to be willy-nilly... whoever the promoter likes the best gets the good start. I can't figure any rhyme or reason as to how they pick it.

If you could do the race again would you do anything differently?

No, I don't think so. I was happy with my result..... maybe leading up to this race if I had done some more technical downhilling it may have helped me out but other than that.... it's where I want to be leading up to Mont Sainte-Anne and Canmore.

Thank you Kirk Molday for the interview!!
