Did you do everything you could to prepare for today's race?

I had my bike prepared well. But did not get the chance to pre ride the course.

Did you have any problems getting into the singletrack?

No getting into the single track was no problem. There was enough distance before the single track to get everyone sorted out.

How did you like the long climbs?

I did not think the climbs were too bad or long. You need climbs on a racecourse to do your passing and to make up time. You make up very little time on most downhills.

Were you strong from start to finish?

Yes

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Yes it was very well organized. The course was well marked and very technical. The turnout was good and the awards were excellent. I like the way you do your awards. This gives everyone a chance to win something and also keeps them around for the award presentations. Heck I even won a pair of K2 skis.

When did you put the hammer down?

I ran my own race. I started slow and followed down the old railroad bed. Then did my passing on the climbs and in the single track.

Did you have any unusual problems?

Once in the single track I was very surprised how wet the coarse was. The coarse was very rocky slippery and technical. You had to maintain a good rhythm to get through it and this was difficult to do because of all the congestion. Once you slowed for someone you would then also have problems yourself. The single track was narrow and passing was very difficult.

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

Yes I ran most the race with one racer and he really help to get the people to move over. It was great it was like having a coarse official with you all the time.

Do you enjoy point to point races more than lap races?

Yes I think so.
