Did you do everything you could to prepare for today's race?
Yeah ! I try to go in the bed early last night !(1:00am) Ooops !
Did you have any problems getting into the singletrack?
I wasn't the first one but I was right behind Chris (Yanavich) on the second place ,so that was a good start .
How did you like the manhole downhill?
I did like so much that downhill section on the pre-ride ! Finally the promoters skip that section in the beginner course ! ( I think for good reason :-)))
Were you strong from start to finish?
I would say yes .
Were you happy with the way the race was run?
Yes . Good job from Guy's Bicycle Team !
When did you put the hammer down?
I felt good right after the start .I almost thought we going to slow ! When Chris slipped over on one log I passed him but he smoked me on the big field .I tried to keep up but he just was so strong on that part. The second time when I pass him I put down a hammer a bit ,I didn't want to give him another chance on the field ! After that just kept a nice steady pace !
Did you have any unusual problems?
No . Everything went smooth.
Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?
On one point of the race in the windy single track ,I heard my girlfriend cheering for me so loud but can't figure out where is she!!! Thanks for the great support !
Did you climb the steep uphill on any laps?
On the pre-ride , almost ! Had to dismount near the top ! Next year !
Anything you'd like to add?
I just bought my bike in April never had a mountain bike before ! When I was a kid had a road bike. I'm soo happy with the results so far ! This is a great sport ! And of course: Thanks to the promoters, Bill Deputy & Don Morrison for a great series ! Good job guys !
