Leanne Ksiaszek

Did you do anything special (apart from the whole training lifestyle) to prepare for this race?

I tried to spin more during the week b/t Fair Hill and Granogue and not ride very hard

Did you make it up all of the hills?

The wooded climb up from the fast gravel road was the toughest for me and I pushed the bike there for parts on each lap. I didn't make it up the Muncle's Revenge grass hill the 2nd lap but did the 1st (a mental victory).

What was your favorite part of the course?

The new single track (thanks to Craig and Lynn) was sweet and probably my favorite part though I really liked the entire course a lot this year, it was challenging but all ridable

Were you strong from start to finish?

I felt I started strong but didn't feel in a groove 'till half way through the first lap then I maintained and pushed the last mile.

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

The whole atmosphere of mb is supportive. I really enjoy the people I ride/race with. The spectators especially on Muncle's Revenge hill were great. A friend Mike Connair (who finished 3rd Expert Master) encouraged me 1/2 way up and that gave me the incentive to clean it the first lap.

When did you put the hammer down?

The gravel road climb at the base of the steep grass climb (Muncle's Revenge)

Did you have any unusual problems?

I started to cramp a little in my hamstrings the last 10 min of the race but that is it.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

I was very impressed with the race course itself and how everything was handled

Is there anything you would like to add?

I'd like to thank Alan of Alan's bikes for all his support....mechanical and personal.
