Leanne Ksiazek

Did you do anything special (apart from the whole training lifestyle) to prepare for this race?

I took one day off the week before the race

Did you achieve your goals for this race?

Yes, I wanted to be near the front going into the last lap and then push as hard as I could to finish strong

Were you strong from start to finish?

The first lap was very congested and necessitated a lot of passing on a tight course....difficult. I do think this allowed me to have some left on subsequent laps as things opened up.

Did you have any problems trying to get to the single-track first?

No. Starting with the climb helped me. I marked a few people and wanted to be in the first 3 or so going into the woods and I was able to do that

Were the riders courteous while passing in the single-track?

For the most part people were courteous. I think some people get just really tired or are just clueless and fail to allow people to pass. A riders meeting prior to the start would help this.

What was your favorite part of the course?

The climbs

When did you put the hammer down?

The climb at the start of the 3rd lap

Did you have any unusual problems?

Two crashes....carrying too much speed in the off-camber section for my ability in lap 1 and 2. Luckily nothing serious for the bike or me

How would you rate the course?

Very fun...fast....tight

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

I think there were a lot more people than expected. Staggered starts would have helped spread things out a bit on the course.

Is there anything you would like to add?

I'd like to thank Alan of Alan's bikes.
