How was your fitness level going into this race?

Ok. Better than the week before.

Were you happy with your position going into the singletrack?

Yes. My teammate Zack got the holeshot which was good for us but unfortunately he had to pull out the 1st lap (wrist injury from a crash earlier in the week).

Were you strong from start to finish?

No, I faded towards the end. David Duvall and I went back and forth and I was hurting by the end of the race. I probably felt best on lap 2.

When did you put the hammer down?

Kind of on the last lap. I tried to attack Dave on the climb and just barely got away from him. But the whole race was pretty intense.

Did you have any unusual problems?

My handlebars came loose on the 1st lap so the first time up the climb I was trying to fix them while riding. I had to stop at that overhanging log on the climb anyway, so I tightened them up there.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Yes, I thought they did a nice job. The raffle was a good way to spread out some nice prizes, the course was marked well, etc.

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

Just one sport rider who made it real difficult to pass him when I was riding with David on our last lap.
