Did you do anything special (apart from the whole training lifestyle) to prepare for this race?

Road riding twice a week with the Harrisburg Cycling Club out of Carlisle, PA

Were you strong from start to finish?

Stronger towards finish. It takes me several miles to warm up.

What part of the course was the most fun for you?

The rocky singletrack sections.

When did you put the hammer down?

In the most technical sections, I got bursts of frustration that made me hammer through the rocks. At one point, I picked up my bike and ran past a female rider in front of me.

Did you have any unusual problems?

Just a few frowns from a couple boys/men who I managed to pass on the uphills.

How would you rate the course?

Fast and smooth for the most part but two very technical and fairly long sections.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

I thought the race was run well except for one thing: at start of race from road heading on to trail was a large boulder that created a backlog of racers as some folks fell down.

I enjoyed the course and was even happier to see that they had cut away some very thorny and overgrown sections of the course.

If you could do the race again, would you do anything differently?

I would have warmed up a bit longer prior to the race.

Anything you'd like to add?

Nope. Thanks for the interview!!

Thank YOU Jen for the interview!
