Did you do anything special (apart from the whole training lifestyle) to prepare for this race?: Not really. I just went out the night before and had a few beers with my friend Ed (he was 3rd in Expert Men).

Were you strong from start to finish?: I felt strong througout the race, and kept my heartrate fairly low.

When did you put the hammer down?: I put the "hammer down" from the start, and found myself in the lead after half a lap. I felt good so I kept the same pace for the entire race.

Did you have any unusual problems?: I had too small a gear on my single-speed which kept me spinning faster than I like.

How would you rate the course?: Excellent...one big 'ol BMX track!

Were you happy with the way the race was run?: The race was run very well, with the exception of the results being posted slowly. I guess there were lots of protests....not the promoter's fault.

If you could do the race again - would you do anything differently?: I would put a bigger gear on my bike if I did it again. Probably a 34 x 16

Is there anything you would like to add?: The Allaire race was a nice late-seaon treat for us moutain bikers. Major props go to the Bicycle Hub.
