Did you do everything you could to prepare for today's race?
Not really, I did spend the night in Jim Thorpe with some buddies. I helped make a beeramid and went to Molly Maquires where I behaved cuz I was the DD :-(
Did you have any problems getting into the singletrack?
Nope, I just slowly worked my way through the field during the long road section before, and was able to be in the top ten entering the rocky sections.
How did you like the long climbs?
I liked them...give me more please.
Were you strong from start to finish?
I seemed to feel good the whole race.
Were you happy with the way the race was run?
The race was run very well...I would like to see some more of the sweet singletrack that they have up there.
When did you put the hammer down?
I didn't hammer, just kept a nice steady pace the whole race.
Did you have any unusual problems?
Nothing unusual, just the normal stuff.
Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?
When I was on the short section of pavement in the middle of the course with Mike Y. and Johnny from Wooden Wheels we had a car drive by and empty their ashtray on us. I gave them a friendly hand gesture and kept on riding.
Do you enjoy point to point races more than lap races?
Point to point races are the best. You are always riding new terrain the entire
race...just like a good ride!
