Did you do anything special (apart from the whole training lifestyle) to prepare for this race?

No...... what can you do? I just drank a lot (water) and eat healthy...... what you do every day....

Did you make it up all of the hills?

I did make it up all of the hills on the bike.

What was your favorite part of the course?

There's a singletrack section about half way through where you were taking pictures on the first lap and I was right in front of Chris (Eatough) (river trail before Weymouth's hill). It's about the only place where you can rest for a couple of minutes before you start hurting on the climbs. The twisty singletrack...... I liked that.

Were you strong from start to finish?

I was stronger on the start. I faded towards the end......... I was trying to keep up with Chris on the first and second lap. He'll wear you out.

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

Not really........ I was first lap I was in third and then I attached real hard on that first grassy climb over by the woods (greenhouse climb) and was able to gap everybody. I probably went a little too hard. After that it was just Chris and I, and then it was just me. There weren't too many lappers today which was good.

When did you put the hammer down?

See above answer.........

Did you have any unusual problems?

I think staying hydrated was my only problem.

Did you run out of water?

I didn't run out but.........just one bottle per lap is not really enough to counteract what you lose on a day like today.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Well, they were on time and did a good job in that respect, however the payout was a little lope sided compared to the Expert payout. In that respect it was a little upsetting that the fourth place pro didn't get any money and he would have won Expert and they paid five deep in that. It's a little ridiculous but I guess money is more important than mountain bike racing..........

Is there anything you would like to add?

I had a good race....... it's always fun to ride with Chris. I don't know if he's taking it easy sometimes...... but whenever you can ride with him it's a good day. Thanks for all the people who are making this series happen.........
