How was your fitness level going into this race?

Good enough

Were you happy with your position going into the singletrack?

Yes, 2nd place

Were you strong from start to finish?

I felt a little tired on lap 3, but still not bad

When did you put the hammer down?

During lap 2 at the steep hill; I couldn't tell if an expert pre-riding the course or 2nd place was behind me.

Did you have any unusual problems?

No

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Yes, on time and organized as usual

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

Tony Baldo and Jim Thistle (I think) spurred some loud cheers for their crash right behind me on the steep downhill during the first lap. The dust from that crash blew up under me. Apparently, Tony crashed in that same spot on a later lap-- it must not have hurt bad enough the first time.

Those jelly donuts at Dunkin Donuts are a really making me strong.
