Did you do anything special (apart from the whole training lifestyle) to prepare for this race?
I just took it easy the past few days before the race.... that's about it. Nothing abnormal.
Were you strong from start to finish?
Pretty much. The one guy led the whole first lap and then I passed him and he didn't pass me back after that.
Was it hard to get by?
Nope. I was going easy actually (sort of) taking it easy.
When did you put the hammer down?
Second lap, third lap and fourth lap. Then I was done.
Did you have any unusual problems?
None whatsoever. Bike worked great... everything worked well.
How would you rate the course?
The course was awesome. I think it's the best course in New Jersey, period.
Were you happy with the way the race was run?
Yes. It was run great. Can't do much better than that. What was your favorite part of the course? The good berms and turns.... it was somewhat technical and fun. Definitely the corners are the best.
If you could do the race again - would you do anything differently?
Not really.
Are you looking for sponsorship next year?
For mountain biking, yes. I'm really looking for it. I do road racing. I'm
a Cat 2 road racer and I'm fourth in the PA State
Cyclo-cross Series. Next year I'm doing a lot of road racing and I'd like to
do all of the mountain bike nationals and
cyclo-cross races.
Is there anything you would like to add?
Thanks for the interview.
