Jason Moore Race Interview - Subaru Fall Classic '01

Not quite. I raced yesterday in Potter county...... had a four hour drive each way..... went up Friday night........ so I was tired. The race was 22 miles........ I got back late last night and rested a little...... that was all I could really do.

Did you have any problems getting into the singletrack?

I went a little bit too hard off the start to get out front. Two guys gathered me right before the singletrack.......got in front of me..........which is all right....... and then I followed them.

How did you like that manhole downhill?

It was pretty cool........ it got smoother towards the end. There was a downhill like that yesterday.... it was called the "stinger" ...... same type deal.

How did you end up in that race anyway?

I won that...... Jay Duffy (Speedgoat.com) got second........ it was a good race.

Were you strong from start to finish today?

Pretty much....... yep.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Yeah..... great...... always am.

When did we put the hammer down today?

I think it was about the second lap.......third lap...... and then I was gone......... but I could see him (Brandon Ott - Tailwinds) behind me so I had to just keep it up.

Did you have any unusual problems?

No. Everything went well.

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

Not really. Everybody was good....... I think they know it's me coming. They can hear me slappin' the chain and coming pretty quick..... and I tell them ahead of time...... so it works good.

Did you climb the steep uphill on any laps?

No...... I was going to but then everybody else was running it so...... I ran up it...... and I was trying to run fast...... but it was pretty hard so.........
