Don Morrison

How was your fitness level going into this race?

A bit light. I have been very busy at work and cant ride much. I have only been running.

Were you happy with your position going into the singletrack?

Yes, I did what I wanted start slow at this race and finish. I did not finish my last three races do to problems so all I wanted to do was get a good ride in and finish.

Were you strong from start to finish?

I just rode slow and steady. I wanted to make sure that I finished and I did not care what place I got.

When did you put the hammer down?

The only hammer I use is fixing things at home on the farm. And a few hammer-gels.

Did you have any unusual problems?

I almost ran over Rich McCurdy when he went over the bars in front of me.It was a great looking crash. I was glad he was ok.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Wooden Wheels did a perfect job. The course was great and all there workers work hard and it showed.

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

Yes, I was riding through the tunnel and I saw Bill Deputy taking my picture and when I looked at him my front wheel slipped on the wet rocks and I crashed.

Anything you would like to add?

Thanks to all the riders that came out and braved the heat.It was a tough race just to finish. Great job Wooden Wheels!!! Don't forget The Iron Hill Challenge this sunday.
