How was your fitness level going into this race?

Pretty good because of the fairly mild winter. I still have some work to do, though.

Did you have any problems getting into the singletrack?

Not really. I was one of the last in my class to get to the starting line. I really should have started the course preride a little earlier. I really had to work hard to get to the front.

Were you strong from start to finish?

Pretty much.

When did you put the hammer down?

I knew I had to go hard right from the start if I had any hope of placing myself in a position to win.

Did you have any unusual problems?

Just being late to the starting line.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Very much so. This was the first race I've done in the Mid-Atlantic Super Series and was very impressed.

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

Not really. Everybody was very nice and courteous.

Anything you would like to add?

I would like to thank my First Capital Velo teammates and Adventure Cycling and Fitness for the support. Great race. I couldn't believe the turnout. I can't wait for the next race.
