How was your fitness level going into this race?

Ok. I felt much more healthy. I'm trying to get my body back into training now.

Were you happy with your position going into the singletrack?

Yes. I was up front for the start.

Were you strong from start to finish?

I felt pretty good throughout the race although walking that long muddy hill was tough!

When did you put the hammer down?

I tried to go hard on the second lap to try and catch Karen Henry, but the mud was too distracting for me to focus on going hard.

Did you have any unusual problems?

Just the typical challenges of riding through lots of mud.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Yes, everything went well! Quick, accurate results, nice venue, a pond to clean off in, and they let us choose how many laps to do which was nice. When I finished I was glad we did only 2!

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

I passed a guy who stopped to wash his bike off in the lake at one point. I think he had a good idea!

Thanks to race promoters for a great event, despite the mud! I hope the trails recover ok.
