What do you do for cross training? (not cyclocross, but off the bike exercise)?

Snowboarding twice a week.

Do you take time off the bike in the winter?

Yes

How do you avoid weight gain in the winter?

Remain active and avoid eating too much high calorie foods.

What month do you plan on coming into fitness for the 2001 season?

April or May

What month do you start your pre-season training?

January

How do you deal with riding in the winter conditions (cold, snow, ice, lack of daylight)?

I just try to ride for a couple of hours when the weather is nice and the temperature is above 35F.

What are your goals for the 2001 season?

1. Top half finishes at NORBA national races.
2. Make team to collegiate mtb nationals.
3. Keep on having fun!

Is the "pro mountain bike racer" lifestyle as much fun as you thought it would be?

Yes, this kind of lifestyle is fun, but it also requires a lot of determination.
