Did you do anything special (apart from the whole training lifestyle) to prepare for this race?

No

Did you find the rock gardens challenging?

It was fun! I've always ridden in this type of terrain so this (and harder) is what I'm accustomed to.

Were the other riders courteous when passed or passing?

Yes

What was your favorite part of the course?

The whole course was really nice, fast, technical, and cool fast dh's, but to answer the question I would have to mention two parts, the techie DH's and the climb with the tree leaning over it, I cleaned the climb and squeezed under the tree and finished the rest of the climb on the second lap on the first lap there was a bottle neck at the tree.

Were you strong from start to finish?

Just about, in the middle of the second lap I felt a little tried so I dialed it back for a few to let the body recover then continued hammering.

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

There was about fifteen minutes that I was alone it felt like I was on a rec. ride I had to remind myself that I was in a race.

When did you put the hammer down?

Once I got around the leader which was early in the race on the first power climb the one after the small clearing near the staging area.

Did you have any unusual problems?

None

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

Yes, IF possible if the awards could be given out a little earlier.

Is there anything you would like to add?

On the way home we got caught in some really bad traffic on rt.80 in NJ heading back to NYC for about 1.5 hrs finally we get to the reason of the delay, a car rolled up on the right shoulder of the road, the side of the shoulder was off camber facing the road, from the way the car looked it must have rolled over a number of times and the person was ejected and landed in the middle of the Hwy they had a sheet over the person that was soaked w/blood, it was a sad site, someone wasn't getting home someone's dad,mom brother or sister, wear your seat belt's and slow down save the speed for the next race.
