How was your fitness level going into this race?

It's probably at its highest point of the season and I'm pretty happy with it.

Were you happy with your position going into the singletrack?

Yes, I was about 3 heading into the trail, soon made the pass for second.

Were you strong from start to finish?

I was definitely consistent the entire race.

When did you put the hammer down?

I didn't really put the hammer down. I rode a very steady pace throughout.

Did you have any unusual problems?

Not really, my front disc brake was dragging and was doing some squealing, but that's about it.

Were you happy with the way the race was run?

For the most part it was run very smoothly except for a scoring mistake in which someone didn't tell the timers that they were not going to finish. But that wasn't their fault at all.

Did you have any interesting experiences during your race (exchanges with competitors/spectators)?

I missed first place by 2/10s of a second. As I was closing in on the finish line I glanced back for the second place rider, who had been riding on my wheel the whole race, and didn't see him. As I turned back around he was on the right side of me sprinting wildly. I responded quickly but didn't have enough time and lost by about a wheel length. It was a great race though.

Anything you would like to add?

I'd like to thank Don Morrison for organizing the entire series and I hope it goes on for many more years. Also, If Brett Carper would to read this, would you give me an E-mail. I picked up your medal and would like to mail it to you.
